Gil can be spent on many things in Final Fantasy XIV, from new gear and catchup pieces to fancy mounts – not forgetting the lure of player houses or Free Company workshops!
With enough Gil, players have the freedom to customize their game experience as they wish; however, building such an amount can take some time and dedication.
Main Scenario Quest
Gil is the primary in-game currency of FFXIV, earned through quests, guildleves, doing tasks on the Duty Finder, killing enemies in dungeons, selling equipment or purchasing items on the Market Board – it can even be collected from monsters and dropped in treasure caskets throughout the world!
Gil can also be obtained in regular doses from the player’s Zelle Tree, which grows with each level up, selling unneeded weapons and components, selling unneeded weapons that exist only to be sold off (and there may even be items designed specifically to generate income), selling Chocobo rides and items, or purchasing Chocobo rides and items with this money.
FATEs
FFXIV offers numerous opportunities for players to earn FFXIV gil, such as quests, guildleves, dungeons and Duty Roulettes. FATEs offer another means of collecting plenty of Gil while simultaneously unlocking items which they can wear or use to upgrade their equipment.
FATEs offer an easy, accessible Gil sink. While not as lucrative as WoW repair costs and flight expenses, FATEs provide a solid source of cash that’s always within reach – not to mention providing a great way to gain experience while leveling up a new class!
Daily Roulettes
Most core game activities provide some form of FFXIV gil reward; quests, dungeons and raid boss chests all give out small amounts while hunt boards and daily duty roulettes provide steady sources. Players can also take part in day trading – buying items cheaply in one world then selling them back at a profit in another – to earn extra Gil.
However, the amount of gil per hour earned through these methods varies based on server costs and player participation; so it’s wiser to look at it as a general measure rather than as an exact number. With enough gil, players are free to move freely among servers, purchase catchup gear and equipment, purchase their own housing or Free Company workshops and even port between them at will.
Treasure Hunts
Players in Final Fantasy XIV can make plenty of Gil in-game, thanks to main story, job quests, gear rewards, dungeon completion and selling gear on the Market Board.
Treasure maps can be an excellent way to earn ffxiv gil. By following their clues to valuable chests that contain rare crafting materials and gear – not to mention furniture, mounts and minions! – treasure maps offer one of the fastest ways of earning currency in Warcraft III.
Khloe’s Challenge Log provides another great way for players to earn Gil. Each week, there will be new set of challenges which reward players with a handsome amount of Gil.
Tribal Quests
Purchase Treasure Maps off of the Market Board and sell them back can provide an effective means of quickly earning Gil. However, your per-hour earnings may depend on how far into a patch cycle it is.
Crafting is an excellent way to obtain Gil, while simultaneously increasing your gear and orchestrion tracks. Furthermore, crafting can provide plenty of opportunities to earn lots of Gil through quests, guildleves, and Duty Roulette!
As well as these methods, another way to earn FFXIV gil is through purchasing items from stores or auction houses; you may even gain Gil by fleeing battles without using Flee. Lastly, other means exist such as purchasing train tickets and completing Fields of Valor training regimens.
Leve
Gil is an invaluable in-game currency that enables you to level up, craft items, buy food and potions, and purchase beautiful mounts. Gil can be obtained in numerous ways: main story quests, FATEs, guildleves, duty roulettes and dungeons are just some of the ways it can be gained.
Gathering can also be an effective means of earning Gil, particularly at the beginning of each patch when materials are in high demand. But this method may prove risky as players compete for scarce nodes and items. Completing Retainer Ventures may also prove profitable but is best completed at lower levels for maximum returns; and its success varies considerably over time.
