In The Day of the Jackal (1973), the Jackal also drives a white Alfa Romeo, despite being an older-generation model. It would have been a great cat-and-mouse chase if the female lead had been anyone else, literally anyone else. The way she portrays the detective makes the viewer, at least this one, not want to root for her.
She comes off as a conniving, cold, know-it-all, selfish woman
Yes, she is with the police and what she does is right, but how she does it is terrible! I don’t like her, nor do I care for her. Because of this, I feel like a lot of us who are watching the show will root for the Jackal.
And I know I’m not the only one
He is everything she is not, even though he is a murderer. I don’t want her to succeed in his mission, and I don’t want the Jackal to get caught. I don’t think it should be this way, but that’s how I feel.
Apparently, she is getting close to him
Unfortunately, if she succeeds, I will want to stop watching this show. And that’s a shame, because he is great at that!
